I had another relaxing weekend, and it was much needed. I actually left work a bit early on Friday because I’d overexerted myself without realizing it and came home and went to sleep. I hadn’t been getting much restful sleep and the added stress at work for the things that need to be finished in the beginning of the month.
Saturday was a lazy day for me as well. I cooked breakfast and lounged around the house all day. I didn’t feel like cooking dinner and ended up ordering out for sushi and shrimp fried rice.
Sunday was busy, but filling. I got up and went to the 8am service at church, went grocery shopping, did laundry, washed my hair, straightened up my place cooked and did my nails. I was running around like a chicken with it’s head cut off, but I got a lot accomplished. My niece and nephew have been asking to come spend the night at my place for a few weekends now and I figured that this long weekend would be perfect for that. I needed to pick up some groceries and knew that the kids would want certain things so I headed to Walmart after church and probably called my sister like 4 times to make sure that I had the right foods for them. I ended up coming out under my proposed budget (even after adding about $25 worth of beauty products to my list) and I was a happy girl when I walked out of there.
The weather here has been terrible, a bit like the weather in London during the summer time according to my friend Raj, and it seemed perfect for what I cooked last night. I came across this recipe for chili on Whit’s blog and it looked easy enough for me to cook so I made sure that I grabbed the ingredients, ‘shit I would need’ according to Whit’s post, while I was in Wallyworld and whipped that delicious chili together faster than I could dance to the entire 20/20 Experience Part 2 album. I altered it a bit, I actually found some tomato sauce with the chili seasonings already in it by Hunts and I used that instead of the McCormick’s chili seasoning, but it was still yummy!
Quick fix and delicious? That’s an A+ in my book!
It was so good!!! I added cheese on top and meant to take a picture of my bowl, but I made a happy plate before I could. I’ll definitely be eating on that chili for the better part of this week.
