I love a good cover, and according to Sunday’s Grammy Awards so does the academy. I really liked seeing the covers of the songs nominated in the reels. Too cute!
Anywho! My friend Megan and I got stuck in traffic for 2.5 hours on Saturday after a car accident happened on 59 South and during that time we had a mini concert session. Hey, what else were we supposed to do for 2.5 hours? She has Spotify on her phone and always discovers the most random songs so it’s always a musical adventure when I’m in the car with her (or when I’m looking at her Spotify feed at work). I kept picking up on British accents on Saturday and she informed me that we were listening to her ‘The Brits Takeover Part II’ playlist and that got me smiling.
Then we heard Delilah’s cover of “Inside my love”. I didn’t immediately recognize the song, but Megan told me that I would when the chorus came on. She was right. My mind went to the original by Minnie Riperton.
The original song was sexy, but Delilah’s breathy take on it made it even better! I knew that I had to share that track with y’all today and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
