Curling up with one of these: The Caster Chronicles
**sponsored post**
I was contacted a few weeks ago by the good folks over at Grammarly and given the opportunity to test out their services, and I have to tell y’all that my mind was blown. Where was this when I was in grade school and wracking my brain to make sure that all my thoughts were original? This website would’ve saved me many sleepless nights in undergrad scouring the internet to make sure that my term paper wouldn’t be flagged for plagiarism. That’s no longer an issue for me, but I tried Grammarly’s plagiarism checker free of charge because I still get that pulling in the back of my brain before I hit publish to make sure that my content is not only original (my thoughts, not necessarily the topics) and that I’m using proper grammar. I have to make my grade school teachers proud.
I’m an avid reader. I used to be able to get through a book a week when I was a teenager and that dwindled to 1-2 books a month in undergrad. I vowed to myself that in grad school I’d make time for light reading. As much as I love criminal justice and reading over case studies, sometimes I just need to escape in a quick chick-lit. I’m not the only one who feels this way, right?
I set a goal last year to read 30 books and I met that goal (see my Goodreads button on the sidebar) and I want to read 40 this year. The easiest way to do that is to get a good series and read them all. Insert the Caster Chronicles by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl.
I’ve had these books on my Kindle for awhile, but didn’t get around to reading them until last fall. I don’t know what it is about YA Fantasy books, but they’ve been pretty popular these past few years. The first one was turned into a movie, I wasn’t too thrilled with that, but I really like the series. I’m currently on the third book and I can’t wait to finish the series. I look forward to seeing how it’s going to turn out for Ethan and Lena.
