This time last week I was shopping in Philly. Can I go back to that?
Oh wait, I am for Thanksgiving. But until then I want to tell y’all how awesome it was last weekend.
I went to Philly to visit my friend Blake; a trip I was actually supposed to make for labor day, but had to push back for a few reasons. I’m so happy I went this past weekend though, it was epic!
My flight arrived on Friday evening and from there it was a blur, thank God for Instagram and Twitter. We grabbed this delicious pizza at New Style Pizzeria and it was so rich I could only eat 2 slices. The next we hopped on a megabus and headed to NYC for the Global Citizens concert.

Now I’m all for getting comfortable on the bus, especially since it was a 2 hour ride, but there was a girl on there who took her shoes off.
Umm ma’am….
We had a bit of time to kill before the concert so we grabbed lunch at Southern Hospitality. It was everything I imagined and more! I was so busy eating that the only thing I snapped a picture of was my appetizer, ‘Eggs & Bacon’.
I also had a bacon burger and Grandma Sadie’s pecan pie. It was delicious! Then we made the 5 mile trek to Central Park for the show. It might not have been 5 miles, but it sure felt like it. Sheesh!
We had pretty decent seats on the lawn, and were able to sit down for just about the whole show.
We actually left before Stevie’s set was over. The show was supposed to over at 9:30pm, but Stevie didn’t care. We started walking out around 9:45 and he sang an additional 4 songs as we were leaving the park.
The next day Blake took me to Sabrina’s Cafe for brunch. The food was delicious and they even had Breaking Bad brunch specials in honor of the series finale.
That’s stuffed french toast.
We went to the King of Prussia mall afterwards to walk off some of that food and y’all, I thought the Galleria here in Houston was big. That mall is nothing compared to King of Prussia. I picked up the cutest hi-low dress from Forever 21 and a clutch to replace the one that broke earlier that day. I’m definitely going back to that mall when I go back to Philly for Thanksgiving. I won’t be going for Black Friday, I can only imagine how crazy its gonna be that day.
My trip felt like it ended too soon, it didn’t hit me until after I finished watching the series finale of Breaking Bad that I would be heading back to Houston the next morning. I almost missed my first flight too. Security was absolutely packed for 6AM and by the time I made it through I heard my named being announced over the loudspeakers and my plane was going to leave in 3 minutes with or without me. I made it…barely. All that running was worth this view though.
