If you’re a Samsung Galaxy owner like me (or if you downloaded it illegally) you’ve probably had this album since last Thursday. If not, I hope you at least streamed it on Spotify this morning as soon as it was released.
I saw the commercial and saw Pharrell, Swizz Beatz, Bon Iver and Timbaland and I wished I was a fly on the wall in that studio!
This is a different sound for Jay-Z, one that I like. You can tell that his music has grown with the change in his life. Don’t get me wrong, I love his older albums (especially American Gangster) but I love hearing him affectionately refer to his wife and daughter on quite a few tracks on this album. I give it a solid 8/10 and think that y’all should take a listen for yourselves!
I posted the edited version because this is the version I’m listening to at work.
I already have a few favorites, “Holy Grail” with Justin Timberlake, “Party II” with Beyonce, “Tom Ford” and “Somewhere in America”.
