I’ve been babysitting my nephew and spending time with my boyfriend this weekend and didn’t really get a chance to post. Well Chuck’s gone home now and I have time to get a few things out on…well screen between loads of laundry and wanted to combine these two days.
Day 17: A favorite photo of yourself.
Day 18: Tell a story from your childhood.
This picture was taken at Olan Mills in ’94, I was 6 and in the first grade. That was one of my favorite grades in elementary. I’d learned to read at 4 and would often volunteer to read in class when it came time to do that. It was at 6 that I started reading one of my favorite book series as a child ‘The Babysitters Club’ and the ‘Bailey School Kids’ series. I remember this being the time I fell in love with reading. I discovered that by picking up a book I could escape to whatever world the book was taking place in and it wasn’t uncommon to see me in the house with my nose in a book while my sister and cousins were outside playing.
It was a simpler time in my life and I remember that year fondly.
