Ok, my original plan was to talk about the amazing musician that is Gavin DeGraw, but that was put on the backburner (read: saved for next week) when I checked twitter this morning and realized that today is the 11th anniversary of *NSYNC’s final studio album, ‘Celebrity’.
(that granny in the corner gets me every time!!)
*Insert tears here*
What happened to the 2 year hiatus, you guys? Hmm?
Not that I’m mad, but I’m mad.
Those were the years of staying up all day trying to call into KRBE to win tickets to the concert, only to later realize that my mom had already bought me tickets and planned on surprising me.
Those were the days of my mom basically buying me everything that had those guys’ mugs on them. I had the gummy bears, the chapstick, the marionette dolls, every magazine, the computer games, you name it I had it.
I can still sing every word to every song on this album. In fact, I’ve had it on loop today and have been tempted numerous times to break out the dance moves to ‘Pop’ and ‘Up Against the Wall’ (rodeo theme? really y’all?).
It was funny because there was one song on the album that I really didn’t like and my best friend did. She was the one who overplayed this song and now I love it.
I loved the rest of the album though. From “Pop” to “Selfish” (which an ex learned how to play and played it for me a couple of times *swoons*) to “Something like you”. I was really upset that this was their last studio album because I felt that they were finally coming into their own on this album. The sound was eclectic but it worked well together. The guys were writing and producing more and they even had a Nelly feature on “Girlfriend”.
I don’t want to be that person and post the entire album on here, but I’ll post a few of my favorites from the album.
(this video has nothing to do with the song, but it’s my favorite fanmade video for the song)
Okay, I’m going to stop now. I was seriously about to get carried away.
I really feel old posting that today is the 11th anniversary of this album.
I miss my guys.
