Linking up with Sar again!!
[Day 3]: Tell us about an article of clothing you’re attached to.
I racked my brain for a good 15 minutes before this particular article of clothing hit me. I wish I had a picture of it because it’s the simplest of shirts, but it means so much to me. I’m not just saying that because I’m a [recovering] t-shirt hoarder either.
I’ve been playing the flute since 6th grade, I marched it for 6 years and still pick it up every now and then. It feels like I’ve gotten a million band shirts over the years, but I’ve only kept a few. I’ve had one in particular since 2002…yes, 10 years. It was the first year I made the All-Region Symphonic Band and my mom bought me the shirt with everyone’s names on it, and she even got my name and instrument ironed on the left sleeve. It’s a bit faded because I’ve worn it [a lot] over the years, but you can still see the orange, yellow and blue logo on the front and the same colorful logo behind my name and ‘flute’ on the sleeve. I wish I took a picture of it before I left the house this morning; I might go back and add a picture this evening when I get home.
My mom passed in April of 2003, and though that shirt wasn’t the most expensive or even the last thing she bought me, it means a lot to me. I don’t think I’ll ever get rid of it.

Wow! How touching and sentimental. Thanks for sharing (and it'd be awesome if you added a picture of the shirt…be neat to see it!) 🙂

I'm gonna dig through my t-shirt bin tonight and take a picture and add it to the end of the post…it might be wrinkled though! Lol.
Heather says
You have lots of memories behind those. I will be checking back for a picture 😉
Tamara says
I'd love too see a picture! And what a great sentiment.
I was a band nerd too, and loved every minute of it.

Aw, Jaz, that's sweet! That makes my heart happy.
