Are we really two-thirds of the way finished with this? Wow. Time has flown by!
I’m happy to report that this isn’t a scheduled post! I’m home and back and work and slowly getting my bearings together so that I can blog. I’m so excited for the three posts…yeah I said it, THREE POSTS I have planned for y’all!
First up, another link up with Sar!
[Day 10]: What’s your most embarrassing moment?
Okay, I’m going to set the scene for y’all. Imagine, the homecoming game freshman year of high school and I’m on the marching field. We’d just mastered…well as well as we could…the finale of our marching show that year and we were only doing the last movement since we had to cut halftime short to present the homecoming court to everyone. My last set was 12 steps down the 50 yard line. I repeat, 12 steps down the 50 yard line. I’d marched that set about a hundred times and could’ve marched it in my sleep…not that night. I somehow lost my footing and tripped! I wish I could say that I did a tuck and roll or something really fancy like that, but that wouldn’t be true. It felt like I was down on the turf forever, but in reality I was down for about 2 seconds before I popped up and finished the set. Shoot, I had to, I had a tuba player coming up behind me!! The worst part, I broke my fall with the flute!! I don’t know what was running through my head, but I stuck that tiny flute down to “break” my fall, and ended up breaking the flute! I was so upset too! It was a loaner from the middle school I’d attended and though they assured me that it was okay, that the flute could be replaced and that they were more concerned about my safety I still felt bad. My mom and aunt rushed to my side when we got back in the stands to check on me and that only embarrassed me more because they were laughing! At the time I just wanted to hide, but looking back all I can do is laugh.
Do any of y’all have a story like that? Or is your embarrassing story more humiliating?
Sar says
Oh no! So gracious of the middle school to tell you not to worry about it, though!

oh my I would have been so mortified, that's what's good about moments like that though, a while later it becomes funny 🙂 Mine was pretty awful too!
