So I guess the popular saying this time of year is “New year, new me”…but I don’t think that applies with me. My personal resolutions are to love more and be a better me. I think that those two are broad enough statements for everything I want to do this year. I’ve had enough experience with my past resolutions to know that doing all those “I want to lose 50 pounds, I want to be a better friend, I want to get better grades” resolutions tend not to last past the first quarter of the year with most people. So I don’t want to pinpoint certain things that I want to improve on in my life this year, I just want to use blanket statements so that any way I achieve these goals will be good and rewarding. That upsetting feeling that comes when you don’t fulfill your resolution is one that I don’t want to experience again this year; especially when I come so close to accomplishing them.
So I resolute to love more, love everyone more, and be a better me all the way around. I’m going to take this second semester of grad school by the horns, especially with the downtime I have at work. Oh yeah! I have a new job! I love it too. It’s in the non-profit field and it’s very life-giving. The hours are great for school and I have the weekends off. This gives me time to take the trips to Boston & Dallas I want to take to visit friends this semester. I have a feeling that 2012 is going to be good for me.
