I’ve actually been meaning to do this for awhile…like a month and a half, but I just found my final 5 polishes in the past two weeks so I’m doing it now! I even contemplated just doing a youtube video today, but my hair is flat-twisted and rolled and I just don’t feel like taking them down; so I’m just doing a blog entry. Lol! If you’ve been keeping up with this blog you know how my love of nail polish has grown exponentially this past year. My collection literally went from 4 or 5 bottles to over 70 in a matter of months! I change my polish often, usually at least twice a week, and these are the main colors I’ll be rotating through these colors (along with some glitters of course!) this fall. I’ve chosen 15 colors that reflect my personal style, this season’s trendy colors and some classic colors.
They’re divided into 4 different groups and that’s how I’ll review them. Some of these are drugstore brands and I’m not sure if they’re available nationwide, but I’m sure that you could just find a color (from any brand) that’s close in color.
Okay, so as you can see from the picture this is group 1, my blacks and other dark-ish neutrals.
#1: Ulta’s ‘Smoke Screen’ – I picked this color up almost a month ago after I fell in love with it in the store. It wasn’t on my list of must-haves from the store’s line, but it stuck out because I don’t have a color like it, nor have I seen a color like it…until now. MAC actually has a really close dupe of this in their new Fall 2011 line. I like this color because it’s like a purple-ish gray that changes in different lights. A definite must have for this fall!
#2: Ulta’s ‘Army of 1’ – I’ve been lemming for an army green color for awhile and was SUPER stoked when I picked this up during one of Ulta’s sales (with ‘Smoke Screen’ and 3 other colors) for $1!! This color is trendy this fall, but it’s been trendy for all of my army brat life. As you can tell from the picture, I’ve worn it recently, my most recent mani actually, and I’ve worn it plain too! It’s muted, but has just enough ‘pop’ to stand out.
#3: Wet ‘N Wild’s ‘Black Creme’ – The name says it all. This is a standard black creme that goes on so well! It’s fully opaque in one coat, but I always do two because I’m OCD like that. I don’t do black manis often, and when I do they usually have glitter on them, but this black is beautiful enough to wear on it’s own!
#4: Ruby Kisses’ ‘Steel Magnolia’ – This is a play on the movie, and this color is just as good! I’m not a big fan of cremes, more of a shimmer/glitter/holo girl, and this steel toned shade does it for me!! It’s absolutely gorgeous! I’ve done this one by itself a few times, more recently on my toes and I love it!
Stay tuned for Group 2!!!
